Dark Skinned Beauty Tips

Finding the right make-up is extremely difficult for woman of color & dark skin tones - but hopefully these makeup tips will help! Here are some tips from an Iman Cosmetics make-up artist that will work for women of all ethnic types!

Tip #1
“Young women can look garish with brightly colored blush. A softer, more flattering glow can be achieved with natural-toned bronzers. My favorite IMAN Sheer Bronzing Powder is Afterglow. This is a pearlized, tri-color tinted powder that can be dusted lightly over the cheeks to impart a fresh, natural, sheer hint of color.”

Tip #2
“Oily shine is ‘on cruise control’ with IMAN Under Cover Agent. It’s a super ‘modifier’ that checks oily breakthrough and shine on contact. This colorless, light-weight lotion is perfect for all complexions. Apply to the T zone (nose and forehead) or wherever you tend to be shiny. Use as a primer under your makeup or as a touch up throughout the day.”

Tip #3
“You can get a supermodel look with sheer, nude lip glosses. But remember to use lip pencil to define your lips and enhance a sexy pout. Choose from natural nudes or rich brown pencils that compliment you. Avoid black eye pencil on the lips at all cost!”

Tip#4
“A touch of powder can give you the power. IMAN Second to None Semi Loose Powder Enriched with Minerals gives your skin an even, natural finish while it refines texture and absorbs excess oil. It’s enriched with vitamins and oh-so-important minerals that treat the skin. It’s available in shades for light, medium, and dark complexions.”

Tip #5
“With the stresses of school, the environment and just plain life, young skin needs moisture too (even if your skin is oily, it still needs hydration). Choose an oil-free formula that gives you added protection without the oil. Also select one that has SPF of at least 15. Your delicate skin needs sun protection year round. IMAN Oil-Free Moisture Complex has all of these properties plus botanicals and vitamins that also help take care of your skin.”
