Dick Page - artistic director for Shiseido Makeup - Oct 21st

What: Dick Page, artistic director for Shiseido Makeup, will be presenting the brand’s new Holiday 2009 color collection and performing personal color consultations and makeup applications in person. The line, dubbed Rich Rocks, was inspired by Page’s own travels around the country in search of semiprecious stones, which he then used for tonal and textural inspiration.

When: Wednesday, October 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Call (212) 705-2890 to schedule an appointment (a $100 reservation fee, redeemable in Shiseido products, is required).

Where: Shiseido Beauty Counter at the newly renovated Bloomingdale’s at 59th Street and Lexington Avenue.

Why: This marks Page’s first-ever move to mingle with the masses in the U.S., and aside from being one of the most gifted editorial makeup artists we’ve had the pleasure of interviewing season after season at the shows, the man is a riot. When we asked him to explain Spring/Summer 2009’s eye-gloss trend backstage last year, Page—never one to give canned responses—had this to say: “You just can’t put much more gloss on your lips. It’s like everyone’s been eating pork chops for the last few years. I don’t know how much more gloss the lip can carry, so maybe it’s just migrating north.” Hilarious!
