Color, Not Carcinogens: Butter London

Earth Day will finally be upon us in less than 36 hours. We’ve been bombarding you with plenty of deals and info about charitable partnerships that have already gone into effect in anticipation of the official celebration (see below), but here’s yet another do-your-part initiative that’s mostly self-serving: To hammer home its “three-free” formula—that would be nail polishes devoid of formaldehyde, toluene, and DBPButter London is giving away a free bottle of polish to the first 500 customers who log on to its Web site at 8 a.m. PST/11 a.m. EST on the 22nd. You get to pick whatever color you want, as long as you promise to go green and eliminate the toxic lacquers from your stash. If you make the cut on Wednesday and you’re having trouble choosing from Butter’s rainbow of flat and metallic options, might we suggest Artful Dodger—a true teal from this summer’s “Fashionista Favourites” collection (it looks great on toes).
