Iman's Top 5 Beauty Secrets

imanheadshot_main.jpgIn the category of all-time greatest beauties, Iman ranks right up at the top of the list. And if you think the model looks stunning in photographs, you should see her in person. Sure, she's genetically blessed, but she's also got serious knowledge of skincare and makeup (her beauty line, Iman Cosmetics, Skincare, and Fragrance, has been going strong for 15 years now). So when we sat down with her recently to check out her latest product collection, we asked for her secrets.

SPF 50 sunscreen.
"Patricia Wexler is my dermatologist, and 10 years ago, she told me to start wearing SPF 50 sunscreen on my face every day. At first I balked—I said, 'I have dark skin—I don't need that high of an SPF every day!' But I took her advice, and I'm convinced that's why my skin has stayed in such good condition. Women with dark skin often think they don't need to wear sunscreen, but everyone needs it—it has literally saved my skin."

Iman Sheer Finish Bronzing Powder in Afterglow.
"It works on all skin tones. It's a trio of rose and terracotta shades, so you can blend them to make the bronze color somewhat light or deep. I also use the terracotta powder as an eye shadow, and the rosy shade as blush. The compact makes doing your makeup so easy and effortless."

SK-II Facial Treatment Mask.
"These cloth facial masks are the bomb. I can't live without them! They're so hydrating and they make my skin look instantly radiant. I use one as often as I can."

Iman Second To None Cover Cream. "If you apply this concealer on dark circles and spots, you don't need to wear foundation—that's how good the coverage is. And it's creamy, so it doesn't cake or settle into lines."

Mamie McDonald, facialist at Mamie's Day Spa in New York City. "Sophie Dahl told me about her—she's amazing and the only facialist I trust my skin to. Her facials are never harsh, just hydrating and soothing."
